Ceredigion & District Growers Association

Ceredigion Growers Association was formed in April 2008 and in 2015 it was decided to admit growers from surrounding counties so our group was renamed the Ceredigion & District Growers Association.

map of Ceredigion For those of you who do not know this beautiful part of west Wales we have the blue seas of Cardigan Bay to the west and the rugged Cambrian Mountains to the east. Aberystwyth is our county town and the small population (80,000) mainly speak Welsh as their first language.

The climate is benign and ideal for horticulture with coastal districts rarely having frosts, allowing an long growing season with adequate rainfall. This allows our growers to produce a fantastic range of plants. The CGA is made up of a diverse group of nurseries who felt that by working together they could put Ceredigion and the surrounding counties on the horticultural map. The CDGA has a wide range of growers who can offer something for everyone with a comprehensive range of garden plants, many unusual and sought after, as well as some old favourites.

The Association holds Plant Fairs throughout the Ceredigion, often in conjunction with gardens open under the National Gardens (Yellow Book) scheme and organises the annual Ceredigion Garden & Craft Festival in Aberaeron.

Attracting new members is very important to us. If you might like to attend our meetings or join our group please contact Gillian Boyd (Secretary) on 01570 470577 or download and complete our membership form.

Mae'r hinsawdd yn ddelfrydol ar gyfer arddwriaeth gan anaml iawn mae'r ardaloedd arfordirol yn dioddef rhew, felly caniateir tymor tyfiant hir a hefyd dibynadwyedd glawiad digonal. Golygir hyn fod ein twfwyr yn medru tyfu amrywiaeth helaeth o blanhigion. Ffurfiwyd y CTC gan grwp amrywiol o feithrinfeydd, a oedd o'r farn bod modd iddynt roi enw da i'r Sir ym maes garddwriaeth trwy gydweithio. Ymysg aelodau CTC, ceir ystod eang o dyfwyr sy'n gallu cynnog rhywbeth i bawb o blith ystod gynhwysfawr o blanhigion, llawer ohonynt yn rhai anarferol a phrin, yn ogystal a rhai hen ffefrynnau.

Yn ogystal a llwybwr planhigion, mae'r Gymdeithas Tyfwyr yn cynnal Ffair Planhigion drwy'r Sir gyfan, yn aml mewn cydweithrediad a gerddi sydd ar agor o dan gynllun y Gerdii Cenedlaethol (Llyfr Melyn).

Rydym yn cydnabod pob cymorth a gawson oddiworth Rhwydwaith Garddwriaeth Cymru, prosiect a ariennir gan gyllid Ewropeaidd a chyllid gan Lywodraeth y Cynulliad, yn ystod ffurfiant y grwp ei wefan a'r llenyddiaeth.
